Planting the school grounds:
- A plan should first be prepared, and passed by the School Board. A copy of the plan should be framed and hung in a conspicuous place in the school so that the pupils may become familiar with it.

- Usefulness to man
Wood: for heat, houses, furniture, etc.
Food: Nuts, Fruits, Maple-Sugar, etc.
Medicine and Commercial products: Cascara, Salicin, Formaline, Wood-alcohol, Turpentine, Resin (Varnish) Cork, Paper, Excelsior, Wood-silk, etc. - Shade trees (Deciduous) relation to streets, heaving, etc., Preservation Screens, and Windbreaks (Evergreen)

- Different kinds of flowers, fruits, and seeds.
