A project for Davidson

Vancouver’s Naturalist Field Club and the Art, Historical and Scientific Association could not attract enough interested members to represent an active botanical community. Davidson was not comfortable joining these groups because he came from a working-class background. He hoped to create a strong natural-history society more open to people from different backgrounds, such as the one he had belonged to in Aberdeen. But first, he had to find a job.
